There’s a lot Hollywood stars are ranked on, most beautiful, most wealthy, most likely to land in jail, just to name a few. One thing you hardly hear being discussed about these actors are their voices which I find odd considering that an actors/actresses voice is their first line of communication with their audience.
I mean let’s be honest here there are a few Hollywood actors I can’t bear to listen to ( Fran Drescher and Gilbert Gottfried come to mind). Although I’m aware that these two actors voices are nowhere near as annoying in real life the personas they play on television is a whole separate story.
Below I’ve gone ahead and provided my top 10 picks when it comes to the sweet seductive voices of Hollywood. Mind you these are not in order from least to most favorite. Enjoy!
10. Liam Neeson
When I have shared this piece of information with folks in the past they look at me as if I’m crazy. I don’t know if it was the “Taken” movie series but I am definitely a big fan of this man’s voice.
9. Michelle Pfeiffer
This one is going back a few decades but I felt she needed to be included on this list. Michelle is all about adding accents to her voice and I don’t mean linguistic accents.
8. James Earl Jones
Was there any doubt this man would be on this list? I mean come on, no one even comes close to having the bass James has in his voice.
7. Morgan Freeman
By far the king of narrating. One of my favorite movies of all time is “Shawshank Redemption” and one of the major reasons for that is the crazy amount of narrating Morgan Freeman does in it. Just check it out.
6. Kathleen Turner
If you ever had a crush on Jessica Rabbit now you know who was behind that iconic voice. There really isn’t much (if anything) you can do to improve on Kathleen’s voice.
5. Jack Nicholson
One of my favorite actors by far, I have always felt that Jack had a powerful voice and a way of projecting his voice. Need some proof then check out this scene.
4. Helen Mirren
Besides her great accent and graceful way of talking, you got to love the way Helen stands up to Parkinson’s sexist remarks.
3. Denzel Washington
I’ve seen this man portray a scholar, a gangster and an average joe. It doesn’t matter what role he is in his voice is always there to match.
2. Patrick Stewart
Another classical voice, if you go by his films you may not take him seriously but Patrick is a beast in the theater world.
1. Oprah Winfrey
I left the best for last! I can listen to Oprah speak for days! Her voice has a soothing softness but at the same time comes off as being determined. Check out this inspirational piece on believing in yourself.
So there you have it…
Now while these Hollywood figures are iconic it takes a lot more than charisma to dominate while you are up on stage. Tone, timing and too many aspects to name go into creating a perfect presenter.
