I’ve got to share something with you guys this week. I am so tired of people giving this advice to individuals that suffer from glossophobia…”Just get up on stage and fight through your fears”.
Do you know how awful that advice is? Seriously, think about it. I know in our culture we have the belief that meeting fears straight on is the solution to beating them but is it really?
I’ve heard stories of individuals who are terrified of heights so they go skydiving in order to overcome their fears. While these stories may be true they are in no way the norm.
The majority of people in this world do not overcome their fears by bulldozing through them. If anything I just see more fear and panic developing in these individuals.
Think about it. If you’re insanely afraid of snakes and I was to put you in a bathtub full of them do you really think your brain at that very moment would be able to conquer your fear?
You’d probably now develop a fear of bathtubs as well!
Same goes for public speaking. I can’t think of any way worse than to conquer your fear. There’s just too much that can go wrong. You’re pretty much in the lion’s den when you’re up on that stage.
You’re most likely to cause a snowball effect if you decide to try the bulldozing technique with public speaking, meaning every time you try it you may develop a new trigger to your anxiety making it that much harder to beat.
I’ve seen a good number of techniques online and most of them focus on being in front of a crowd but I am here to tell you there’s another way, one that will keep your sanity intact and that is our CONQUER YOUR FEAR BUNDLE SET! It includes 5 courses and 11+ hours of success-proven tools and techniques that’ll ensure you’re ready to take the stage!
